Gothidays FINALE!

Happy Finale!!  I have had so much fun participating and seeing every one’s posts!  Thank you for inviting the internet into the your homes and sharing your traditions, pictures, and lives with us!

Enjoy more photos than words!

Our Christmas tree is actually a 4 foot tall pre-lit job that we picked up at Lowe’s after we moved to Missouri.  When we spent our first holiday together in Colorado Springs, we had both found ourselves jobless and spent a lot of time at Sacco’s parents house, mooching food and television service.  We naturally mooched their tree as well.

Since getting the tree we made the decision to get an “ornament of the year”.  I actually found our ornament of the year this year, in The Insomniac’s Attic.  I was eyeballing it and then, quite happily, won a gift certificate on her blog!  It was like the God’s went “There, we are pointing, now dig in your wallet and get IT!”  I had already shown Sacco and he was all “Oooo…it’s Us!”.

Meet the ornament of the year!

Meet the ornament of the year!

It is actually TWO ornaments, a white rat and a black rat.  They are sooo much better in person.  They are adorable and perfect in every way.

Now I do all the decorating, but it is Sacco’s job to fluff the tree.  I cannot stand the fluffing of the faux branches.  I haul it up from the basement, he get’s it ready for magic.  We call it our Holiday Bush because A: Something 4 foot high is not a tree and B: It is a of two significance for two separate religions.  Please enjoy the pictures of the tree and our special ornaments!!

    • There are moose EVERYWHERE. Lining the stairs, hanging off of things, in the kitchen, on the porch. It is quite frankly amazing.

Whenever they leave to go camping and I or my husband are in Colorado Springs, we break in and rearrange the moose. They own a life size one made of wood with hinged joints that generally winds up in the tub. 😀
